im quite new to this server
found a decent spot to make my home and possibly a little settlement for all my characters.
placed a Harvester since it was also a good spot for Aluminium, realised i needed power to make it work.
so i scanned the high plateau i was on for both wind and solar and got nothing, not to be like that but on a high platue on Tatooine, not even a small pillar as far as the eye could see 2 suns yet no possibility for solar power or gather wind on this high altitude..
this is a broken system of a joke.
and for new players wanna start a new settlement alone or together with friends its kinda a issue that you need to scatter buildings all over the plannet to harvest all materials + energy you need.
since most of the good spots been taken long ago but the players that been on the server for a long time.
i dont care that materials are far appart or all over the planet
but most of the energy/power should be able to be gathered allmost anwere, not asking that the hole planet is +80% for sun and wind. but atleast 10-20% over the planet, and the bigger hotspot be alittle bit more common than they are now.

All resources have the same system of spawning-energy included.
Don,t think that can be adress without a lot of changes in the programming.
Better make some fighter character first, to get some credits from various
missions (janta or others) before starting a career in crafting.

It's an emulation of the live servers. This game was made in 2003 and many of its mechanics are varying degrees of not up to par according to current game release standards. However, they are part of the game and the Pre-CU era implementation, which we aim to replicate with some slight exceptions. The crafting system isn't one of them, apart from the fact we add more recipes and slightly change final stat calculations sometimes. I agree it makes no sense, but it has been the exact same since the server's inception, so you aren't disadvantaged at all, apart from the fact you are only just starting to build your resource stash, which takes quite some time to do. Investing time as a crafter to not only learn the systems but also stay on top of creating a quality collection of resources is what draws many to SWGs indepth crafting system.well hardmode or not that stuff is still broken AF and makes no sense.
other materials i get but wind and sun power.........
that nice way to kill it for new players just saying
