Ranged pet attacks do work.

There seems to be some confusion regarding pet ranged attacks. The ranged attack command is not yet implimented, but that does not mean that ranged attacks do not work. The fact is that ranged pets will not use them when they are in melee combat, aka at range. This means, firstly, they cannot be agro, second, they cannot be in melee range. You could have a melee pet engage first and then use the attack comand for the second pet next. This means having a totally different command/macro for the second/ranged pet. The problem with ALL of this is that as soon as a player character engages they are instantly agro. As things are, pets are little more than DPS. Until the agro issue is addressed, you might as well have as many pets out doing the maximum damage they can collectively manage. Mixing the pets up with various specials can be advantageous. Some pets seem to favor a particular HAM pool. Flying pets seem to hit the head more doing more mind damage while spitters/aka ranged seem to hit the midsection more and so do more action damage. The melee pets seem to vary the most in damage type but seem to do the most health damage, from what I've seem. I still have more exprimenting to do with the special combos but with the few master BE's stocking pets the selection has been pretty limited. I've managed to find a couple really sturdy pets and I'm hopeful someday they might be able to hold agro. That's when things get really fun.

Had a ranged pet where the skill vanished, I know this CH and BE thing is not a much played profession as it does not have any fotm, same with other professions... probably was one of the reasons all professions where nailed down to was it 9 different ones in the NGE... too much work or too many complains if the 'lesser' professions would be more on line with the few other actual professions that people seemed to play WAY more than anything else.

Wish all this jedi hype, pvp crap would be set aside untill we have an actual working gameplay for all professions one way or another and not just being used for stacking defences in a figure of speech, it do somewhat make the game very onesided and to some extend not creating enough diversity, removing old pre-CU nerfs for starters on eg. commando and CH would be a good start, and not to tamper to much with stuff... everything added though is greatly apprciated, server stability stuff really working out big kudos to that, because it has not been an easy task... first putting up with a stubborn program and of course us haha :)

Yeah, a few updates ago ranged pets got bugged and lost their ranged attacks. This bug was removed but the affected ranged pets remain affected, i.e. no ranged attacked. New pets do have ranged. Now half or more of the BE pets flat out don't work.
