Newbie Question

Hi, I'm new to SWG but had a friend who always praised the original higher than any other mmo to date.

My question is simple: Can an Entertainer be an effective Smuggler, why and why not?

The character I have in mind would be a young, good-hearted scoundrel not unlike your typical cliche of a Chaotic Good hero. However, I'd him to be a decent musician/entertainer in general provided he can still use a pistol well enough to survive, and ultimately be a smuggler.

Any advice or should I just go Marksman?

Its Doable...But you'd probably end up take more combat profession skills after you learned how long musician takes.

If he goes up the Technique line of musician first it doesn't take nearly so long because unlike Dancer, you can craft your way up with instruments. Nalargons give about 400+ xp per..the slow part will come when he starts grinding up the entertainer healing xp, though if he's lucky to have a big group and a friendly combat medic diseasing the group for more xp then he can fly up those lines as well.

unfortunalty smuggler is more of an RP profession that an actual master class profession

feign death doesn't work
the first tree is useless unless you are really into talking to jawa's and you only need the first box for that

i dont know what the market for spice is but ive not heard any one asking for it or promoting the sale of it

so that leaves slicing and the weak ass combat line
you are better served mastering any other combat class and taking a few boxes in smuggler than getting master smuggler

hell if you go Pure RP you dont have to get any smuggler boxes and you can make up more content for yourself then any version of SWG has ever offered a smuggler

nah its more of a hybrid prof, u can combine it to a combat class and use the extra combat skills like final ditch(pistol skill with the highest damage) or feign death(its not working thats a shame)

or use him to craft spice or slice weapons/armor for other people or sell them faction Points
master smuggler will give u a hidden bonus on slice outcome and 25%price reduction for faction perks

also smuggler always have the most style and its the coolest rp prof
