Before I ask the question I should put a disclaimer that I've only attempted to survey on Naboo.
When you go to grind survey xp, is it always 12xp or are there areas you can survey that provide more xp?

It's based on how much you pull each time. Find a higher percentage to sample and you'll get more EXP per round.
