Ive got a Master WS with plus 10 tapes to weapon repair. Ive completely failed to repair 3 out of my last 4 repairs using 99.7 repair tools. This seems wrong. Is there someone that could help out with info on what i may be doing wrong or if theres a known bug?

Make sure you are standing right next to the appropriate crafting station. Some of the "success rate" of repairing falls on the crafter who made the item from what I've read the item complexity plays a factor (I don't know if this is true). All I can say is even if you get the other +15 repair skill tapes you should always have a 5% chance at failing so RNG might be playing a factor for you atm.

during 1 failure, i was near a crafting station and i failed but i did have 206 battle fatigue. Got wrecked by a narglatch right before the repair.
The 2 other repairs i was not near a station and BF was 206.
Does BF play a role in repairs?

I would say its not worth risking it since BF is so easy to clear

Some info on the EMU website says that any battle fatigue will decrease your chances at success.

By the way it depends on the decay % (Condition/Max condition)
Moreover if this ratio is under 20% : 100% failure .

That's completely false, I've repaired plenty of armor with only 2 or 3k condition when they had a condition max of 40k.

I do believe the item being under 25% does increase the failure rate my repair rate still seems to be pretty high on these items

This is correct, also make sure the pup is removed from the weapon or its guaranteed to fail

WS repair is affected by the skill mod of the WS, the condition of the weapon (generally want it higher than 26% but not too high either. 26-30% is safe. Be near a crafting station and have ZERO BF. YES BF reduces your ability to repair weapons, even with a 99% tool. I had a MWS back in the day and would never fail an attempt at a repair unless I had BF and she only had a +5 Weapon repair CA.

A couple of other notes:

Sliced weapons are harder to repair.

Weapons with PuPs attached when repairing will skew the stats and permanently alter the weapon, and not for the better.

Even maxed out and standing behind the correct crafting station you have a chance of it blowing up in your face.

I usual tell people to get their stuff repaired when it reach around 50% condition and inform that there is a slight slight chance it will be a horrible repair no matter the condition due to RNG as it has happened once on one of my own weapons that I use... but it is like 1 out of 200+ repairs or something down those lines.

Probably jinxed myself by saying all that now lol.

Lots of misinformation in this thread - here are the facts (straight from the EMU code, unless awakening devs have tweaked).

1. Game rolls a dice, 1 to 100
2. Roll 5 or under is a autofail, no matter what. Additionally, if your item is under 20 condition (read, not 20%, i mean actually 20 points of durability), you auto fail
3. If you don't auto fail you add/subtract the following to your original roll
- add 15 points for standing next to the appropriate crafting station (quality irrelevant)
-subtract 1 point for every 2 points your tool is less than 100 (so a 98 quality too results in a 1 point subtraction)
-Battle fatigue DEVASTATES your repair chance, subtract 1 point for every 2 points of battle fatigue
-subtract 1 point for every 3 points of complexity (hard to know for any given item, but looted item complexity is higher
-add 35 points for profession mastery (weaponsmith or armorsmith)
-add repair skill (up to 25 from skill tapes)

Take you final number, and this is what happens:

< 25 The complete fail
< 50 An imperfect repair. A 35% reduction in max condition
< 75 Repair with slight blemish is an 20% reduction
>75 A 5% reduction in max condition.

Very nice information there, and this seems to coincide with my repairs. Thanks mate

Thanks for posting the system - I wasn't aware of the complexity aspect of it, but it helps explain some the tendencies I've observed personally.
