I ve always thought a ID wasn't utilized enough when it came to vendors, Is there a way to put in a mechanic that the merchant can give permission to an ID. And then the ID can customize the Vendor looks. Im guessing the vendors are random here like other emu servers. im not yet finished the merch grind.
this idea would give ID s more purpose in the game and more work. and would make creating vendors less of a dice roll for a merchant . ??

I would LOVE to see this. I have a Master Merchant (will likely have 3 of them) and would love to be able to place the race/gender I want with the name I want, then just have it ID'd. I've spent entirely too much time creating and deleting vendors just to get a mostly decent looking vendor.

As someone who has literally spent+ hours on vendor RNG trying to get a suitable looking one... I would love this and have thought about it before. But, I realize it would be a very low priority thing for the devs, as there are lots of game critical things they need to work on, and at the end of the day, vendors do function as they should.

I know this idea would be really low priority, I am however wondering if its even possible from a coding standpoint as id s work on players and vendors aren't even npc s let alone players.

As the 'live devs' explained it to me, many moons ago, the image system needs some way to 'accept' the changes, and there is (was) no easy way to set it up for the owner to image design, or for the entertainer to accept the changes on behalf of the vendor.
Not that it can't be done, just that there was no way to change the system without months of work and the chance that you bork completely either the vendor or the image design system, probably both.
With this emu system, there's always a chance that someone will have a lightbulb moment, or that the code is different enough that it can be done, so there's still hope, but I thought I'd pass along the info as to why it was never done before.

It doesn't help ID's, but...
It would seem that the vendor creation tool has either a set of stock skins or uses a "behind the curtain" appearance randomizer. I wonder if it would be feasible to (in the case of the former), present the stock skins to select from or (in the case of the latter) open the randomizer for user selection in a sort of mini-character creation tool.
