Pre-CU Saber Trails MOD

This mod makes the saber trails look as they did on pre-cu live. Without this mod you are seeing what sabers looked like in the NGE, no trails behind the beam itself.

1. download the .rar file.
2. extract the "appearance" folder into your swgemu directory.
3. profit.

props to my friend valkyra for putting this mod together.

The trails themselves can actually be made by simply using one of the older tre files..

If you want I can extract them and zip them up for you.

Just curious: If this is how the saber trails looked back in the pre-cu days, how come they haven't been added in as the default for this server? Looks way cooler with the trails imo, but it kind of sucks using something that most other people won't see (unless they also have the mod installed.)

The sabre trails do make a wonderful addition...you can nearly hear the sabre noises even with sound turned off, they are that good :)

its because this server and all other servers too using the swgemu 14.1 Code

sony removed the saber trails with the jedi revamp that came after pre9 i think so no saber trails in 14.1

Small correction, it's actually SWG SOE Client files/code... nothing to do with server side code. :)

(Sorry for the late response; haven't been home much lately.)

I can understand about the client being different. I just thought if you could add this mod file with the awakening launcher by default, then the end result would essentially be the same, right? Everyone who played here would have this mod installed by default, in other words.

You could do that, but to truly make sure it was right, it would have to be loaded server side as well. Graphically it REALLY doesn't matter server side, but the files have to match the client in that sense.
