New Smuggler item

IDK if this has been discussed/implemented in any of the versions of this game before, but perhaps a "advanced weapon/armor upgrade kit" which would allow the smuggler to choose the type of slice(damage/speed or encumb/base) the item receives.(maybe even at a cost of widening or lowering the max percent possible sliced) maybe this could be a replacement for the ADK in getvetrewards, what do you guys think about this item? you think it would make the game better or worse?

You could pick your slice in a later phase of the game - I believe that was NGE, but it may have been CU. I wouldn't expect to see it here.

I'm conflicted because as an AS/WS slicing RNG is my nemesis. That said, this seems like way too dramatic a change - it would fundamentally alter the entire economy of the server.

The economy of the server would be fine. Awakenings has a strong player economy. Its not like selecting the type of slice would hurt it at all. Even if you could select the type of slice, the amount of slicing would be still a variable in question. It is also not like item decay is going to be in place if slicing type would be implemented.

i dont like easy mode stuff...

smuggler slicing was always about luck, it should stay like this

Making smugglers able to choose the slice they want would double the supply of viable armor/weapons at the very least (only looking at a pure statistical interpretation - not having the risk of a write-off craft would increase it further). That affects resource prices, loot prices, raises the average equipment level of the server, massively lowers the entry barrier to AS/WS, and countless other causal chains that you'd be hard pressed to predict.

That would have a massive effect upon the economy, don't be daft and suggest otherwise. I don't know if it would be a net positive or net negative (nor would anyone else - it'd just be a guess by anyone's standard) but there would absolutely be a change in the economy.
