I just think its dumb to have a rule against PVP in a city but then put bases in that city with scanners that covert people to overt status when they drive by. I killed a guy who didn't know he was overt because he drove to close to those bases.

Of course, by the very nature of the rule, if you were to attack and destroy the base, there would be no retaliation. You'd be engaging in PvE, anyone attacking would be PvP.

On top of which, in the specific case you're talking about, the mayor has been asking opposite-faction players to destroy the base for months.

Oh I didn't know that they were trying to get rid of these bases, at least they are trying to resolve this problem.

There's only one inside the city. The ones outside the city limits, the mayor has no control over.

It's extremely common for players of a specific faction to place bases outside of towns controlled by the opposite faction in the hopes of reaping some easy kills on people flagged by the base. There's nothing the mayor or anyone in the town can do about that, if you're getting flagged by the ones outside of town take it up with whomever keeps placing them.

That's literally what that command does. Militia can kill the person with a 1-way TEF until they leave the city limits. Just make a macro

As mayor of said city Diarmid I have tried multiple times to have the Imperial base blown up. I have gone as far as offering credits, hiring a selection of Rebels to blow it up and even putting an entire guild on entry to a private residence so that they would have a "safe" house in my city so not to be killed for destroying the base as the timer ticked. I have created a base blowing alt just to destroy the base myself until they buffed up the npc's.
You don't like the fact that there is a Imp base in Diarmid? Suck it up. I've had to. The only reason that base was even allowed with in the city was as a retaliation to CoA doing what I saw as some shady shit (placing 3 of their bases on the outskirts of Diarmid to spark PvP w/ those grinding).
I've said it multiple times and here it is again... Don't like the fact that Diarmid has rules, don't come there. Don't like the fact that me and my militia will ban you for fighting in the city limits if caught Don't come there. Don't like the fact you might be tagged overt if you take missions to the East and now also SE (thanks to Rebel placing base that direction) Don't take missions in those directions or Don't come to the city.
I have both faction toons and I'd love more than anything for Diarmid to be true neutral. Heck I'd love if I could have one of my Reb toons be able to leave her house w/o going overt due to that damn base, but unfortunately none of us can have our way because there is little to no respect for anyone by so many that play here and believe that harassing and being a straight on prick will get them the forced PvP which they crave.

maybe you should ban the imps for putting up the base in your "peaceful" and "neutral" city. If you build it...they will come. So don't cry when fights breakout in your city. Just saying.

/Citywarn was enabled and working. It's more likely another patch may have inadvertently broke it. Possible when the Factional city stuff was brought in or TEF. Gotta let us know it's broke so we can fix it!

The reason that the diarmid base remains up while we spend time taking down other ones is simple, it is something that is wanted to be gone. Why do imperials that favor? It wouldn't be "too" difficult to have imperials create rebel characters needed for base busting and blowing up the base themselves.

We have been banned from numerous cities due to blowing up their bases and unsuccessfully rallied any resistance unfortunately which is why something like this would never work. Also it is star wars and pvp is very much encouraged. While it is a sand box and people will do what they enjoy whether it be grinding, crafting, etc. We simply enjoy fighting other players and inability to enter city limits would be far too restricting considering there is already structures that can be used.

Haha I just learned I can do in forums as I can in game... to ignore an annoyance mark a person as a foe and you can't see anything they post. Awww so sry Idah better luck on trolling others :)

For those of you that want peace in your forums do the same to those you wish to stop hearing from it is awesomesause.
