help with dna sampling

i have a master bio engr but havent used him to sample for a long time, mostly make tissue. decided to try making creatures and went out to sample dna. i dont seem to be able to sample dna, nothing happens. am i forgetting something. any ideas. i mask scent and try to sample nothing. thanks in advance for any help

found my toon was bugged. cant attack either. submitted ticket

Did you try using /afk? Having your AFK flag up will prevent you from performing certain actions.
