They were awesome back in the day. Nothing like opening with a 2k hit right off the bat for some panic.
They viable?

They are, but can be tricky to get the timing right. I have had a few drop me below half health though

They are viable when used correctly. They were bugged not too long ago where droids made in singles were fine, but those made by the crate would not pop. Not sure if it is still bugged. I would confirm before purchasing.

Bomb droids from crates I believe are still bugged. I use bomb droids everytime the situation is favorable. But as the other BHs stated, timing is key to gain the element of surprise and is devaststing to a jedi. My best sucess is used in starports or when they leave a cantina.

Whilst Bomb Droids are a great addition to the game. Please remember that they (like pets) are not designed to be able to enter any building set to PRIVATE mode. Should you find a way to do this please send in a bug report. Should you repeat this bug in order to advance your game, it will be treated as an exploit by staff and dealt with accordingly.

All due respect, how are we to tell when it's private and when we are banned from a public structure?

In this case, I think the only real question is whether the intent is for bomb droids to inherit the ban from the calling bounty hunter. If so, then the mechanic blocking the BH shouldn't really matter.Celt wrote:All due respect, how are we to tell when it's private and when we are banned from a public structure?

If you are "Banned" from the structure then it is no longer "public" to you, therefore your "Pets" will/should inherit the same ban. If these rules do not work "as intended" please feel free to file a bug report.Celt wrote:All due respect, how are we to tell when it's private and when we are banned from a public structure?
P.S.
As someone who has recently set up a private test server and who is starting to understand the EMU core 3, I can confirm that these rules are set in the original source code and as the EMU gods designed them. Should Awakening decide to change or develop these parameters along an alternative destiny line, you will be informed.
