I would post this in a Shipwright sub forum, however there is not one available at this time.

This is a guide to leveling the most expensive, resource heavy craft skill there is. It currently has no value to the game as JTL has not been implemented, however if you're a badge collector such as myself, are crazy and love spending millions of credits for absolutely no good reason, or want a good long head start to JTL, this is for you.

To level SW you'll want to craft chassis. Lots and lots of chassis. The reason being that you can use junk resources to make the ship chassis and the result is very similar to using high end resources as far as HP and max mass goes, so it makes no sense to craft with anything but trash resources. With any other profession I would tell you to use practice mode to save on resources and exp however I did not do this as the chassis are perfectly good and can be sold now or at a later time to recoup money or resources spent. It makes no difference which chassis you craft, all chassis of a given complexity level will grant the same exp per craft and require the same resources.

You will absolutely want to level Spaceframe Engineering I-IV first. After which it makes no difference how you level, SW is unique as you need 200k exp to level the master box, it is not a given like every other profession.

Novice - SE I

Novice level crafts grant 1250 exp per in non practice mode. To level to SE I you will need to craft 16 complexity level 23 chassis.

Total Resources for this box.

32k Steel
16k Inert Petrochem
16k Low Grade Ore
16k Aluminum

SE I - SE II

SE I grants 3750 exp per craft in non practice mode. For this box you will need to craft 14 level 27 complexity chassis.

Total resources for this box.

98k Steel
28k Inert Petrochem
56k Low Grade Ore
28k Aluminum

SE II - SE III

SE II grants 7500 exp per craft in non practice mode. For this box you will need to craft 14 level 31 complexity chassis. At this craft level you will need to add Iron and Fiberplast to the mix.

Total resources for this box.

168k Steel
42k Inert Petrochem
84k Low Grade Ore
42k Aluminum
42k Iron
42k Fiberplast

SE III - SE IV

SE III grants 15k exp per craft in non practice mode. For this box you will need to craft 10 level 35 complexity chassis.

Total resources for this box.

240k Steel
60k Inert Petrochem
120k Low Grade Ore
60k Aluminum
60k Iron
60k Fiberplast

At this point you should be 4XXX SW. At this level you are able to craft level 39 complexity chassis. These grant 20k exp per craft in non practice mode. From this point to master you will need to craft 58 of these chassis to master SW.

Totals for these 13 boxes.

1,856k Steel
464k Inert Petrochem
928k Low Grade Ore
464k Aluminum
464k Iron
464k Fiberplast

Congratulations! You are now a master shipwright!

Here is the list of TOTAL resources needed to master from start to finish. You will craft a total of 112 chassis in non practice mode if you follow this guide.

2,394k Steel (2 million 394 thousand)
610k Inert Petrochem
1,204k Low Grade Ore (1 million 204 thousand)
610k Aluminum
566k Iron
566k Fiberplast

Start saving your credits or get going on those heavy harvesters! If purchasing resources you're looking at spending roughly 6 million credits at 1CPU.
I will post other guides for various crafting professions in their separate forums as I go along.

Smokes!!!!

Good heads up on the profession. I know this is like 2 years old but I'm starting to think I'll need to get this line of work going at some point..

Thanks!!!
