These two activities are essentially a huge waste of time. You would, literally, have to go 24/7 in order to accumulate any useful quantities. The killer is that they consistently account for some of the best stats in the creature resources tree. Perhaps, shorter harvesting times, less fails, and greater yields would make these hunting/gathering skills more useful, and a zen alternative for collecting resources.

I think this belongs in the suggestion forum. That being said, I despise fishing, egg gather, milking, etc. I don't do it, because it us un-fun. However, if there were macros for fishing, I could do that. I wouldn't mind setting up and doing it that way. I don't get so much time atk, that I want to spend it staring at a fishing pole.

You can easily afk the shellfish harvesting. And fishing is an amazing past time on this game, I despise fishing in real life but in game I love to go spend an hour or so here a and there to catch some fish :)

But yes I agree with you on milking lassic not a fan of that :).

I agree with Lascic. It is an unpleasant task, especially fishing. At least, milking provides better yields, than the others. However, when you're a Master Ranger, there are clients (Master Chefs & Master Bio-Engineers) who want these resources in decent quantities, so they can produce hard-to-come-by food items and bio-tissues. Just wanted to get a feel about how other Rangers felt about this. Thanks for the chatter.

I totally agree with this! I've been AFK harvesting Mollusk meat on Endor and it's taken me literally days to get a stack of 100K. If you take away all of the fails and/or increase the yield I can charge less for items and don't even get me started on fishing lol

I don't mind the hands on nature of some of these resources. They are very specific for the most part and should remain limited in quantity. It is a perfect opportunity for people who do enjoy ranger and exploration in general to focus on resources that most other people hate to gather. As for myself, I spent perhaps my first year gathering huge stacks of milk (100k to 1 million) and easily found willing buyers. I suspect much went into bantha butter for our top chefs. Tougher resources like eggs, fish, and mollusks have proven useful as premium trade items in exchange for other hard to find resources. In a nutshell, harvesting these items is worthwhile if you put a proper value on them.

I agree that fishing and shellfish is cumbersome and not worth the time. It isn't that I don't mind being "hands-on", but most animal resources are already "hands-on". But the fact is between a "hands-on" excellent meat/hide/bone spawn and an better-than-excellent dish spawn, I will always choose to gather the meat/hide/bone with my playtime. The meat spawn might mean a lower cpu but I can gather a lot of it very easily and make of the cpu loss in volume.

I would think that maybe a better tweak for the gathering of fish/shellfish at Master Ranger. Or, in keeping with SWG's preference for interconnectivity between the professions, a food/buff/droid mod/better harvesting tool would be reasonable too.

I don't mind gathering milk and eggs, but I rarely sell the good spawns, as I do not spend time getting large quantities of either.
