Curious about Droid Damage.

Namely Combat Droids. About how good are they per sey? Will I be able to make Droids that would be good enough to just protect me or clear out a spot I am aiming to sample around? I am asking as I intend to start my path towards Droid Engineering and I wanted to know just how good a Droid made for combat could potentially be to protect me while I am out and about.

They can clear the lower mobs. It will take a long time. Higher end stuff will kill them. You would probably be better off with a combat toon and run two instances of the game. Have your combat guy to clear stuff for you and generate credits and loot items, and your artisan can survey for the resources you need.

Combat droids are brilliant I use them on all high end I do apart from krayts and for me I'd advise anyone to get one great for taking damage off you and pulling Agro off you. Damage wise no there not great but defence wise there brilliant.

I agree with Turin droids (and pets) are great for tanking damage and pulling aggro. If you put in a little effort you can use the droids/pets to carefully pull apart larger groups of mobs into more easily managed ones and twos.
